The International Recreation Club, Dhaka, is hub of international community in Bangladesh. It is one of the most popular expat clubs in Bangladesh, with exceptional facilities, outstanding ambience and warm, personal service. With a membership of over 300 families, representing some 60 different nationalities, the IC embraces its status of being Bangladesh’s most international club.

The International Club, more commonly known as IC, is a non-profit expatriate club. The International Club was established in 1987 by a group of friends from Italy, Denmark, France, Egypt and Japan. From these humble beginnings the club has grown to be one of the most popular expat clubs in Dhaka. Our membership currently stands at 300 permanent memberships, 40 corporate memberships and 20 temporary memberships. Many of our members are diplomats, heads of international missions and leaders in global business.
As well as providing excellent facilities and a warm atmosphere for our members, catering to the needs of both families and individuals, the Club also endeavors to make donations to charitable organizations in our host community of Bangladesh. There are tennis court, swimming pool, separate swimming pool for kids, sauna, steam bath, kid’s play area, kid’s play room, gym, TV room, books and video library, pool room, darts, bar, restaurant, fooze ball, star buck café corner, table tennis, Jacuzzi, party room, catering service and what not.

To maintain a true international blend of members, the International Club divides memberships into six regional quotas. Each region cannot exceed more than 17% of the total permanent membership. In addition to this, no single country may have more than 10% of the total membership. There are four types of membership ion this club and they are, Permanent, Corporate, Temporary and Honorary.

The foundation of friendship on which the IC was built remains one of its most charming characteristics. Members have met here, partied here, brokered business agreements here, relaxed here, and even married and started families here. The International Club is a not for profit organization which is run by, and for, its members. Each year, an election takes place to appoint the president and executive committee for the following twelve months. Any permanent member is eligible to stand for election.
